About NATA



NATIONAL APTITUDE TEST IN ARCHITECTURE has two parts one is drawing and other is aptitude.It is fully based on architecture requirements and drawing skills are very much required to score well.The colleges which accept the results are

Importance :


This is a Very important exam as most of the colleges accept this results some of them are the best.but there is no fixed method to get seat in the colleges. All the colleges have their own procedure for applying.Plenty of seats are available but very few seats of the best colleges.The procedure for admission is little lengthy as we need to apply and then wait for their results.     

Eligibility and Procedure :

pass marks is 80 out of 200 but need to score atleast 120 to get good colleges and have to score well in 12 boards as 50% of both are taken and calculated and results are given on this basis.


Study Method :


All questions till date show very conceptual drawing based questions specially concentrating on perception  and proportion.
Total marks 200
100 marks for drawing
100 marks for aptitude
3 questions are given for drawing
example :
    
1. Imagine that your size has been reduced significantly and you are standing in a pencil box that
has three pencils, one sharpener, and one compass, one small piece of paper, one eraser and
one fountain pen.
Draw what you would see standing inside the pencil box with the lid of the box open. (50 marks)

2. Draw a visually appealing composition using the five given shapes and colour it using four
colours. You can use any shape more than once. However each shape has to be used at least
once. (25 marks)

3. Make an interesting three dimensional stable composition using three bottles, two balls and
one lampshade in the space provided. Also show the effect of light and shadow on the composition. (25 marks)


And 100 marks aptitude where questions are asked from all fields like word meanings and identifying materials and questions asked on materials used for differnt situations like bathroom , kitchen etc
